HRPDC’s Economics Department serves as a resource for socio-economic data throughout Hampton Roads, providing member jurisdictions with ongoing information about the region’s socio-economic environment and current economic issues. Our economic staff gathers and maintains a large database from which regional trends can be monitored. The Economics Department uses this database to produce annual forecasts of business conditions in Hampton Roads. A large part of the database is published each year in the Hampton Roads Databook and made available to governments, public officials, members of the business community and the general public. The department also includes a Human Services section that coordinates the Hampton Roads Loan Fund Partnership, providing low-income families with opportunities for home ownership.
